Hi, I’m Josh

Growing up in a middle-class Jewish family I witnessed first hand the effects of stress on the body. My father carried the burden of supporting a family of five on his shoulders, or more acutely IN his shoulders. One Friday night, at a young age, I was suddenly drawn to massaging my fathers shoulders. It felt so natural. And so, a deep sense of purpose in the power of touch was ignited within me.

TalkTouchBreath has been a lifelong
journey with many iterations…

I spent my early adult years pursuing a career in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competing for the largest promotion on the continent (EFC). I studied sports massage therapy, anatomy & physiology and exercise science. My first clinical practice was Jedi Health & Fitness, where I offered both sports massage and personal training.

With my MMA career winding down, and personal training leaving me unfulfilled, I spent years in a job that felt meaningless. I needed to make a change. During this time, I had been exposed to sensual massage, receiving healing, expansive sensual and sexual experiences that positively shaped my life. My experiences triggered my shame, guilt and self-loathing, they also triggered in me, joy and excitement and connection to myself. This inspired Sensual Select, a practice where I felt a deep sense of connection to my work.

A few years later I found myself with a home, a loving and supportive fiancé, a thriving practice and no joy in my life yet again. After 30 years it finally occurred to me that the reason I was unhappy had very little to do with my external circumstances but rather something deeper within me.

I would later hear a phrase from my mentor Gabor Maté that perfectly encapsulates where I was in my journey…

“Your mind creates the world, but first the world creates your mind”.

I began working through layers of my trauma through the use of plant medicines. My work deepened. I studied Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Mate. Once again my practice evolved and expanded to include talk therapy and tantric practices. TalkTouchBreath was born.

I connected to the art of Breathwork, understanding the power of the breath not only to change our physiology but to reconnect our minds with our bodies and to reconnect with ourselves. It was time yet again for my practice to evolve.

And so… we arrive at this moment. TalkTouchBreath combines all the aspects of healing that have brought me closer to wholeness. I hope to share all my learnings with you in support of your own healing journey. To help you create a space for yourself and your own healing. A space to breathe. To reconnect to your body.
